President Obama Pushes for the Comprehensive Immigration Reform

According to a New York Times article, President Obama announced that the push for comprehensive immigration reform has been renewed and that, now, the weight rests on the shoulders of House Republicans.

Senate passed SB 744 in June of 2013 but movement on passing this legislation came to a halt when House Republicans were dissatisfied with the bill.

The President said earlier today, “if House Republicans have new and different additional ideas for how we should move forward, then we should hear them. I will be listening.” In any case, an immigration overhaul is much needed and long overdue.
